We got the bad news.... Chloe's OFA came back that she had the slightest elbow dysplasia. We were so disappointed but there is nothing we can do. We decided we could not sell her just because she didn't meet our expectations. Because she is one of the fam and knows it all too well. (insert here.... She is real close to knowing how to open the house doors just like our Star learned (heart eyes).) Where she wants to be at all times is with her humans! We decided to get her fixed and just have her as one of the family. So that is the news around here at this time! Not good news but at least it was nothing fatal that happened to her.
We have discussed it and plan to start from ground level again. This is discouraging in the fact that 2 years seems like a long time, but at the same time it's another very good experience for our children. Having a puppy and the responsibility that comes along with it and the calmness (we believe being calm and not overly ambitious around a puppy growing up makes for a very nice personality in a dog. I've talked more about this in an earlier post.) and tenderness in caring for another puppy. We know our children will be so thrilled to have another sweet puppy around when that time comes! We didn't want this dream as a family hobby to be buried just because our first one didn't work out. We will start anew.
Our dream for our little family is, with our love of labs, to make memories. We want to teach our children responsibility while having fun with litters of puppies. Teaching them first by example while they're able to help in their little ways. We want a close-knit family where everyone works together.
I raised labs before marrying and having a family and I feel like it was such a good experience of learning responsibility and meeting a lot of good people. I thank my parents for helping me fulfill this dream! (heart)
So we will close this chapter... all though you will probably see Chloe around, the websites focus will be off of her.
